William Lane Craig Gives Public Lecture Responding to Hawking Claims on the Universe and Its Origins

We thought that readers in England (and elsewhere too) would like to know that on Wednesday, October 19th, at 7:30 Dr. William Lane Craig will present a public lecture responding to Stephen Hawking’s claims in his 2010 book The Grand Design.

The event will be held at St. Andrew’s the Great in Cambridge, England. Craig will address the question “Has Hawking Eliminated God?,” followed by a discussion with physicist Dr. Rodney Holder, with the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion. The event is part of Craig’s Reasonable Faith Tour. More information here.
The Grand Design attempts to answer some of the enduring questions of life: Why is there something rather than nothing? Why do we exist? Why are the laws of nature what they are? In his book, Hawking writes: “Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing , why the universe exists, why we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going.”
The Craig lecture is the latest response to Hawking’s controversial claims.
More information and a live stream of this event are available at www.reasonablefaith.org.
