We are often awed at the medical miracles that save so many of our lives and alleviate unquantifiable levels of human suffering.
These biological facts are often misused to try to push us beyond our welfare duties and into according animals human-type rights.
The point here isn’t to prevent abuse, if it exists. We have animal-welfare laws for that.
The purported goal here is to prevent pet stores from obtaining their dogs from puppy mills and selling these abused animals to an unwary public. I’m not buying.
This case should have been laughed out of court.
