There is no good reason to assume that human intelligence evolved from mud to mind via a long slow history.
This is not how good science is supposed to work but is rather typical for pseudoscience that shields itself against empirical falsification.
It is, as Professor Behe acknowledges, a charming tale, but not very relevant as far as the details of the scientific debate go.
I was reminded of this by an exchange today on Twitter, or X, or however somebody “rebrands” it tomorrow.
The theory has been made immune to empirical falsification because it is simply assumed to be true by default as the only viable option for materialists.
